ART IN THE PARK SULLIVAN LAKE RESERVE

Douglas Street end of the Lake

Wednesday the 21st of January.

Created and run by the Lake Sullivan Care Group for 6 years, Arts Whakatāne has taken over running this free event for children and families.

Art Workshops with artists Tania Akehurst, Kerry Limmer, Abigail Bakker, Maria King and Sue Whale:

Kerry Limmer: Portraiture.

Tania Akehurst: Paper Bag Puppets

Abigail Bakker: Flax weaving. Wristbands, fish and other small items.

Sue Whale: Pastel Drawing of animals and plants on black paper.

Maria King: Crochet for Beginners

Other activities:

● Musical entertainment by live performers

● Free BBQ sausages and Calci yum drinks (sponsored by Fonterra)

● The Balloon Man

● The Halo (conservation) group will have a display and offer activities.

● Students from the Interact club of Whakatāne High Schools will assist and offer nail and face painting.

●“Joecool” coffee and shaved ice-cream cart.

● Fonterra colouring in activity

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a water bottle and wear a sunhat. Any postponement due to rain will be on the 22nd of January. Information will be on the artswhakatane facebook page.
