Arts Whakatāne is a registered charitable organisation that promotes, initiates and supports projects and activities that stimulate and strengthen the artistic and cultural life of our community by:
  1. Encouraging participation by all sectors of the community in the arts and other cultural and educational activities
  2. Promoting the arts and arts activities whether organised by Arts Whakatāne or other groups, schools or agencies
  3. Facilitating arts activities particularly those that involve a range of arts disciplines and arts groups
  4. Advocating for the arts in the community
