Volunteer role description: Molly Morpeth Canaday Award – Gallery Visitor Host
- As a Gallery Visitor Host, your role is to welcome visitors to the Molly Morpeth Canaday
Award – Painting and Drawing exhibition, offer introductory information and help answer basic exhibition questions (i.e how can I purchase an item, who are the winners?)
- The role is aimed to encourage positive engagement with our community members and
visitors to the region, deter interference with the artworks and to keep Te Kōputu staff informed of any inappropriate incidents or behaviour in the galleries (such as touching artworks).
- Prior to the exhibition opening, you will be required to attend a basic induction session.
This will include Te Kōputu volunteer procedures, health and safety training and visitor
experience guidance. The training will be held at Te Kōputu a te whanga a Toi - Whakatāne
Library and Exhibition Centre.
- As Te Kōputu has many functions (library, community hub, and heritage display), you may be asked a variety of questions from visitors while in galleries. Your induction will include how to manage these queries and direct them to the correct people / staff.
